About a year ago (or has it been two years yet?) Testament did a reunion tour with the original lineup. However, because Louie Clemente hadn't played drums in a while (and because of some health issues I believe) John Tempesta also joined the tour. John did the first half of the show and Louie the second.
There's an official live album out from that tour. Now, what do the rules say about this situation? Is it a 6-piece lineup with two drummers? Is it two lineups or is it a 5-piece lineup with a guest drummer?

Do we know if John was considered an official member of the band? If it was billed as an original line-up tour it would be hard to consider him a legit participant.

From the official news pages on www.testamentlegions.com
"Testament lead vocalist, Chuck Billy, and founding guitarist, Eric Peterson announce that original guitar player Alex Skolnick, and original bassist Greg Christian, and previous Testament drummer alumnist Johnny Tempesta, are joining them for a Reunion Tour in Europe, May 7 to May 15 ONLY. The tour will last for 9 shows only."
-- Note that Tempesta was the first of the two drummers announced for the reunion; no mention anywhere of Clemente.
This is part of the press release of the album I'm talking about:
"Live In London captures Testament’s classic lineup for the first time since 1992: vocalist Chuck Billy, guitarists Alex Skolnick and Eric Peterson, bassist Greg Christian and drummer Louie Clemente pummel through a set of their classics, full of guttural growls, fleet-fingered solos, and double bass drum fusillades that culminate in the dynamic thrash metal epics that the band’s diehard fans swear by. Additionally, John Tempesta, longtime drummer for Testament as well as for White Zombie, subs for the first half of the set for the long inactive Clemente."
So... originally it was only going to be Tempesta but apparently they were able to convince Clemente to do it anyway...

One Line-Up

I would say it should be a single line-up. Technically, both members are true members of the band at the same time. Since they cannot play at the same time doesn't change the fact that Testament, during that tour, was comprised of two drummers. The multi-lineup tool is to ensure that we don't generate fake line-ups of members that did not play in the band at the same time. In this case they both did play in the band at the same time so it should be a single line-up.
