just a quick question about this one: Stenger had some previous solo material out, but the release wasn't really credited to her ('released by Phill Nilblock'). do we treat the Nilblock release like a multi-band comp for our purposes and say that she had previous solo, or do we say that she wasn't yet a solo artist?

We really have to treat the Niblock appearance like a multi-band compilation because it is a properly-credited solo appearance. I agree that "released by" entries seem less powerful, but if we're going to recognize them by including them in the first place, we should give them the same effect as other releases.

Unfortunately, I agree.
