Do we still need our rule about only recognising the 'home' territory name for a band (eg 'The Beat' and not 'The English Beat'). This, I think, predates band aliasing and I wonder if b2b info would be made more useful by opening up the possibility of including these alternate names, albeit as aliases. So a US release of a single by 'The Beat' would go in as The Beat||The English Beat. This would, it seems to me, add depth to the information we carry - after all a current search for 'English Beat' (which might be how a searcher knew the band) yields nothing.

I support this suggestion.

Did we decide not to do this, or did it never get decided?

I'm adding releases by Australian band The Angels, who released records elsewhere as Angel City.

Great idea. Let's do it, but only for this limited category:

"Release Available Only In Foreign Land" by Local||Foreign

I love this idea - since we've got the go ahead I've added a few Suede albums, released as The London Suede in the US.

(I'm assuming the idea was to add foreign releases separately rather than just adding band name aliases to existing home territory releases.)

Excellent.

Now let's expand the rules so we can have Sammy Hagar And The Waboritas||Sammy And The Wabo's :-)
