Releases by Kraftwerk from the mid-70's onwards were in (at least) two separate versions: German and English (and sometimes French as well). These releases had different covers, different track listings and different titles - all the differences being in the language in which it was made.
Now: the fact of a different cover don't matter beans (we just pull the earliest, or the native cover). From that, we determine the title from the cover. However, when the actual *content* is different, because they are singing in different languages, where does that leave us? Does this count as a "remix" and therefore not a separate release? Would it be worth clarifying the rules on this subject?

If the content is different (different language versions) - then for me it's definitely a different release. I am not sure we have consistency on different language album titles / band names at the minute. For example - 'Les Beatles' is deemed = 'The Beatles' but 'The Sugarcubes' <> 'Sykurmolarnir'. While I accept those two aren't entirely analogous and 'Les Beatles' might be deemed to resolve to 'Beatles' which = 'Beatles' in English, I still think that's possibly an inconsistency.

I agree with MP that different language recordings definitely qualify as different releases. That reminds--David Lee Roth had a Spanish-language version of Eat 'Em And Smile.
