Picking up something MattW says elsewhere that I've been mulling over for a while; what does everyone think of a rule that says:
"Nothing goes in b2b that includes no previously unreleased music"?

Debate?

Well, that would certainly cut down on our Beatles discography!

I'm for that as a general rule of thumb when prioritizing which releases should be put into the db, but I wouldn't want to see it imposed as a hard and fast rule. Single-band and multi-band comps are very often a vital part of a band's discography. To take one of countless examples, we currently have Pavement's "Westing (By Musket And Sextant)", a comp of the band's early EPs and singles. I'd like to get all of those early releases in as well (and they're queued up), but the comp is still important to document.

I'm also opposed to limiting releases. It obviously gets unwieldy in certain cases, but i think many of those releases are important, and i also like the idea of having "true" discographies as much as humanly possible.

Bad idea. I'm all for including compilations, re-release twofers, 16 singles all off the same album, the works - the problem I have is distinguishing the singles from the albums on the band / artist pages.
