The War Of The Worlds by Jeff Wayne merits inclusion somehow, but can't figure out how to get it in.
[www.discogs.com] http://www.discogs.com/viewimages?release=806664
The single "Forever Autumn" was credited to Justin Hayward (I've got it) but on the album it just says:
"Featuring in alphabetical order:
Richard Burton
Julie Covington
David Essex
Justin Hawyard
Phil Lynott
Jo Partridge
Chris Thompson"
on the cover.
On the inner in small type against each song we have things like:
"Forever Autumn
Lyrics by Paul Vigrass & Gary Osborne
Music by Jeff Wayne
Script by Doreen Wayne
Vocals performed by Justin Hayward
Featuring Richard Burton"
Similarly for "The Eve Of The War".
"Thunderchild" similarly has credits mentioning:
"Vocals performed by Chris Thompson"
All the other songs have things like:
"Featuring Richard Burton, Julie Covington & Phil Lynott".
At the back of the book you've got the full lineup of who played (all star cast, includes Spedding and Flowers) but there's no suggestion that this is a "band" as such.
Any suggestions as to how we treat this? I'd give my right arm to find a way to get David Essex in ...

I keep trying to get David Essex in through his collab with Catherine Zeta Jones but no such luck. A ruling on 'original cast' recordings might help...
War of the Worlds looks probably unrecordable (to me) - it's by the solo artist Jeff Wayne - but he doesn't play on it.
