[x] diminutive question

What's the consensus on "Speck" being an acceptable diminutive for "Rebecca?"

I'd say no - personally, even knowing both her real name and diminutive it doesn't seem intuitive that one comes from the other.

I'd go with Becky, Becca, Becks etc but not Speck.

Issue is coming up with the band Dame Fate.

Not for me. It's not an intuitive or common contraction.

Good enough. It's already in as Rebecca.
