[x] Collaborations?

I'm losing track of what classes as a collaboration.

I see that "Songs from the Victorious City" goes in as by "Anne Dudley And Jaz Coleman", while "Sway With Me" (billed as by "Judy Dunlop And Ashley Hutchings") goes in as by "Ashley Hutchings", nary a mention of his collaborator Judy Dunlop. What's the difference?

And I don't believe it's that Hutchings and Dunlop did not actually work together on any of the tracks - Track 19 was performed by both of them:

I think I may have to fix the Hutchings / Dunlop collaboration.

Here's a quick breakdown on collaborations. 6(a)-6(c) provide examples, but I thought some more might help.


Situation 1: neither has a prior release, neither has a later release

Situation 2: one has a prior or later release, one has no releases before or after

Situation 3: one has a prior release, one has no prior release but does have a later release

example: John & Jamie Hartford

band name: John & Jamie Hartford

rationale: Both solo artists have released material separately at some point, so this is a collaboration of solo artists (even though it wasn't one at the time that it was released). Connectivity is allowed under 6(c). Note that there is some extra trickery here due to 6(d).


Situation 4: both have prior releases

rationale: This is a true collaboration, so enter the album into the database twice: once for Jimmy Page and once for Robert Plant. No connectivity.
