1. Band releases album under band name.
2. Band leader releases album under his own name.
3. Band releases album under the name "Band Leader & Band".
Seems weird to have (3) go in as a collab, but that's how we do it, right?

Isn't this covered by rule 6c allowing it to go in as a band rather than a collab?
"If all parties of a potential collaboration had released prior independent material, we still do not consider it a collaboration if one party of the collaboration was a member of the other party prior to billing change."
