Is this a collab or a band?

The rules are that if all of the collaborators have previously released something under the same name that they appear under in the collab, then it is a collaboration, otherwise it is a band.

But the situation with Suzie Quatro is questionable. The record "Rolling Stone" can be found released by "Susan Quatro", "Suzi Quatro" and also "Suzie Quatro".

It is argued by Bloopy, cogently and forcefully, that "Suzie Quatro" is an instance of rule 5b (band name changed under a foreign market). My own take is that this is an instance of 5a ("Thin Lizzie is distinct from Thin Lizzy") or possibly even 5c.

So either "Suzie Quatro" exists as a "band" name (in which the abovementioned release of "Wild Thing" is by a collaboration between Suzie Quatro and Reg Presley) or it is *not* a band name (in which case "Wild Thing" is by a band called "Suzie Quatro And Reg Presley").

Ultimately it is unimportant in that whether they are a band or not does not compromise the connectivity. But currently SQ and RP are 7 steps apart (via Bucks Fizz) -- and would be directly connected if they were included as a band.

I'd say the existence of ANY officially released recording under the name Suzie Quatro, whichever territory it was released in, is enough to establish that "band name" as having been previously used, making your release a collaboration. But that's more a gut feeling than a close reading of the various rules that might apply.
