Most of the bands with very high "degree centrality" have an outrageous number of members (I'm lookin' at you, Centipede and Mike Westbrook Orchestra!). What about a "normalized" degree centrality, where the number of bands in the local family tree is divided by the total number of members in the band's history? That would favor small, highly connected groups, like...

Robert Fripp: 928/1 = 928
Cream: 1631/3 = 543.7
Dennis González Dallas-London Sextet: 1879/6 = 313.2

Would be interesting to see the figures for top bands with 1, 2, 3, etc. members by this metric.

The new addition of Wetton Manzanera looks like a good candidate for most connected duo:

1403/2 = 701.5

(Blows Fripp & Eno out of the water!)
