Atomic 7's "She's Got Haggar Party Slacks" put us over the top.

I checked [archive.org] for some historical perspective. For the first two years (or so) of the site's existence, we were steadily adding 5K albums every 5-7 months. Then it took us 9 months to add another 5K, and then 12 months to add another 5K...

01/05: 0K
08/05: 5K
03/06: 10K
08/06: 15K
03/07: 20K
12/07: 25K
12/08: 30K

(Of course, at the moment, we've got another 15K in the queue!)

Seems the more we add to the queue, the less focus we have and the longer it takes to get things in. Remember, we used to only add one album or release per line-up. Now we have become more obsessed with adding all of the releases by a particular group. I was very much stuck on Beatles entries for months in the early days. It's easier to get distracted now and fewer bands are getting in, but the queue just keeps getting bigger. As long as we are making progress though, I guess it doesn't matter.
I would love to see the numbers increase more rapidly, but I guess it's important that we focus on the research instead of just throwing things into the live system. At least we have quality info to back what we do have, but still, who wouldn't like to see more things added?

Looks like Big Foot's self-titled album was #40,000.

Trivium's "The Crusade" was #45K. Took 1 year and 7 months to add the last 5K! That's quite a slowdown.

Closing in on 20K bands, too...
