It would be great if disambig artists and bands just sorted their own chronology out - it's really not feasible to encounter J Smith (US 1), (US 2) and (US 3) - find a new earlier J Smith (US 1) and have to shuffle all the others back.
Equally - we still get issues caused by having to change the live and wiki separately for artists / bands - this could be merged to allow a single update.

bump. Just tried to do this again for a name with 5 variants and gave up.
One problem though is that if this did happen the hard coded links at (say):
[www.bandtoband.com] http://www.bandtoband.com/artist/michael-thompson-us-2 and
[www.bandtoband.com] http://www.bandtoband.com/artist/michael-thompson-us-3 would all of a sudden be for different people...

Is that even an issue? I wasn't aware of the fact that person 1 is 'earlier' than person 2... How do we determine that anyway? That info is not always available. I thought we just increased the numbers for any new person in the database...

I've always gone back and changed to put them chronologically by first release.
But yeah, this would change the hard links.
