Well, why not? It would save any arguments about what does or does not count as human, and defuse any complaints from the Committee for Equal Heights.

However, I think I would draw the line at cartoon characters, unless someone made a serious case for the inclusion of Josie and the Pussycats, of course.

No. Not because I think it's stupid (which I do) but because it would open the way for bands to have members who have not given their informed consent to being in the band. What if I claim that Elvis has spoken to me from beyond the grave and consented to us forming a band? I then take some of his now out-of-copyright music (anything pre-1958 in Europe), add some of my singing to it and proclaim it a band. That's about as useful as having dogs in a band.

I'm indifferent to including non-humans, but there's certainly no reason to exclude cartoon characters. What makes cartoon bands different from, say, Spinal Tap or Lenny And The Squigtones? If the cartoon personas have identifiable real-life counterparts, then we should treat them like any other aliased band.

Josie And The Pussycats definitely merit inclusion, because the real-life singers put out a non-cartoon album. I've added it to the queue.

Oh fair enough then.

Oh yeah, and we've already got The Simpsons, so steady as she goes Mr Sulu ...
