Band currently in queue (also known as Galactic Supermarket on one of the releases). The musicians intentionally played their instruments at sessions arranged by Kaiser of Cosmic Couriers, but they didn't intentionally join a band called The Cosmic Jokers, so does that disqualify the entries?

I think the fact that the records are essentially unauthorized bootlegs disqualifies them.

Alternatively, according to the Wikipedia page, it looks like Dierks is the only musician who played on the records AND participated in the release, so maybe it's a band with just him in it.

My personal feelings run towards the bootleg interpretation, though.

Ignoring the bootleg issue, I think AJ has a good point about membership. The band reminds me a bit of these:
