Can anybody get a handle on his status within UFO in 1980 when he recorded on the Wild Willing & Innocent album?

The old version of his official web site suggests that his appearance on the UFO album was not as a member.
[web.archive.org] http://web.archive.org/web/20011004003244/www.johnsloman.com/roots2.htm lists his bands chronologically but does not include UFO. It adds this note at the bottom:
"In addition Sloman has performed or recorded with... Balaam and the Angel, Lloyd Cole, Jools Holland, Marillion, Paul Young, Robert Palmer, Splodgenessabounds, UFO and Wasted."

Is it true you contributed piano to the UFO album 'The wild, the willing and the innocent'?
Yes. I played on several tracks, including the single 'Lonely Hearts'.

Reading the notes to the recent reissue Neil Carter, who eventually joined, says that he got the job because they were looking for a guitar/keboard player whereas Sloman only played keyboards - so I think we're fine as is.
