Help for aspiring musicians!

For all aspiring musicians.....

I've done some research on organizations which help aspiring musicians with touring costs and other living expenses, and I've been recommended by a friend to check out SESAC. I don't know much about them, but I've heard that they make sure you get paid after a show and they also help out with typical musician costs. They actually had a music video contest and the winner got $2500. Did anyone participate in the competition by any chance? I heard some of the entries were pretty good.
