Latest Additions Feature

I would like to see this box contain more than 18 names as even though I tend to check the site daily, you have often added 20 or more bands and I can only see the ones showing and I don't know how many more you have added (especially given the time difference between the USA and the UK and you often add whole batches while I'm asleep!)

So sometimes I don't even notice that you've added something I've submitted until I actually go and look for it on the site!

I've expanded the list to 25. I hope that will be enough although I can toy around with it some more. My main concern about having a list that is too long is that on the day or two where we don't have the ability to add bands I don't want the long stale list of bands sitting there saying "hey look at how long it's been since these morons have updated the site!"

How did you know that when I'm impatiently waiting to see if you've added the latest obscure band I've submitted, I check the site every 10 minutes and that's what I say? LOL.

Actually, I think it would be nice to be able to sort bands by various criteria, including name, number of links to other bands, or date added to database. That way if I wanted the newest bands I'd just sort by date added and start reading the list. (There are other possible sort criteria including date last modified, number of albums, etc.)

It would also be nice to list some of this info (date added to database, for example) on the band's page.

Another way of getting more "latest additions" would be to put a "next 25..." link on the bottom of the addition list.

Blast, all of PK's suggestions are good and it seems I have no choice to implement them at some point. The sorting by number of bands may prove too tricky but I'll see what I can do. I'm going to try and post a running To Do list I have of features that need to be implemented and post them here so everyone can see what's in the works and to keep me on my toes. Mmmm, even more stuff to do... sweet.

Well, despite our philosophical differences (see Rules thread), I can't fault your work ethic :). Thanks for all the additional features. The site has come quite a ways since I first started contributing not many months ago, it's nice to see the progress :)
